Your involvement with schools and colleges can take many forms and many of the benefits to you as an employer may not be apparent at first glance. This website focuses on 4 main qualifications and routes of involvement all of which vary in depth and length. This could be working with a with a young person for months to an ad hoc basis so there will certainly be ways that you can take on a young person to benefit you and your business.

Foundation Learning, The Diploma and Apprenticeships are all qualifications where students learn on the job and involve a certain amount of time commitment.

If you would rather not commit to a set amount of time with a young person you can get involved by taking part in one day events working with schools on a range of work related activities that are listed below. If your company involves any aspect of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) then employees can become STEM Ambassadors by registering at www.stemnet.org.uk. They will then be part of a national programme that links schools to business for a range of activities.
